The Kingdom Practicum Apprenticeship is a 6 month cross-cultural training in Minnesota that focuses on movements among the least-reached in North America and beyond. (Here…Near…and Far)
Overview
The Apprenticeship provides opportunity for greater life change and ministry development. You will gain greater cultural understanding and the beginnings in a new language with skills to keep learning successfully. You will gain skill with a variety of effective ministry tools and confidence in God’s working through you to reach and disciple the lost. You will be exposed to and part of laying the foundations for and building for potential movement. These six months may save you (1) from burnout and thus needing to leave the field, and (2) from little effectiveness in ministry on the field. We strongly recommend this 6-month equipping opportunity for those planning for long-term cross-cultural ministry.
Next Available Apprenticeship: June 3- Nov. 22, 2024

FAQ
-
Community is an important value of the Kingdom Practicum. To maximize classroom interaction, team dynamics, and mentoring opportunities, the maximum number of interns accepted into the program is 12.
-
Apprentices are required to attend each class session, language tutoring session, participate in the weekly team meeting, engage in their ministry outreach, and attend the occasional team retreat.
While each apprentice may have different ministry outreach situations and opportunities, the general schedule would follow this pattern: Classroom learning Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9am - 12pm + Three hours of language class three times per week + A once a week evening team meeting. Any available time after this will be for study preparation, ministry outreach, and inner healing sessions.
Note: Ministry outreach will be a minimum of 6 hours weekly depending on the relationships made and the opportunities that each intern is offered.
Weekends will be very flexible with occasional ministry or retreats. Interns will be part of a missional, simple-church model.

Most apprentices raise the necessary funds for the program through Partnership Development. As future cross-cultural workers, it is expected that apprentices will build a support team to partner with them (both financially and in prayer support) to empower them to receive this strategic training. Partnership Development coaching is offered from experienced Kingdom Practicum staff.
Each apprentice will set up a “Ministry Account” to handle the funds raised for the Kingdom Practicum Apprenticeship. The funds raised will be put into the apprentice’s Ministry Account. Donors will receive a tax-deductible receipt from the account administrator. Each month apprentices will turn in their ministry and living expenses to the account administrator to be reimbursed. This Ministry Account can be set up through the sending church, sending agency, or other appropriate organizations. This process is great training for future ministry. The Kingdom Practicum staff can give suggestions for organizations offering this service.
-
Community is an important value of the Kingdom Practicum. Therefore, most apprentices will be required to live in the housing arrangements provided. Requests for other housing options will be considered; for example, someone who already lives in Minneapolis and would commute.

Once one has graduated from the 6-month Apprenticeship, they can apply for the 3-6 month “Sojourner Program.” This provides an excellent opportunity for continued growth in living out and practicing what has been learned from the Apprenticeship. Apprentices will have the opportunity to continue their language learning and ministering while being coached and mentored. While affiliated with the Kingdom Practicum, this is a separate and optional program to which Kingdom Practicum graduates can apply.
God is working among the lost nations. He is drawing “worthy” people to himself (Matthew 10:5-15). The Sojourner Program allows one to partner in this exciting and growing work.
